A Fashion Affair


Who: A Vintage Affair
What: The Fourth-Annual "A Fashion Affair" featuring June Carter Cash's Lingerie, Furs, Stage and Streetwear.
When: Saturday, January 29 at 6:30 p.m
Where: The Factory in Franklin

A Vintage Affair is a Franklin-based women's and children's charity organization. The Jan. 29 fashion show will be a runway tribute to Johnny and June Carter Cash. It will also feature designer and Nashville icon, Manuel, who dressed Johnny on stage throughout his career.

Doors open at 6:30 musical performances takes place at 6:45. There will be cocktails and heavy hors d'oeuvres served. The runway show begins at 8 p.m featuring the DAN Talent Group Models.

Musical Performances by Country duo Lawson & Freeman, a special tribute to the Cash Family by 13-year-old throwback vocalist Jessica Strength and end with Calico Trail.

 VIP Runway Tables and Individual seats are now sold out.  General Admission seats are still available for $75, or $600 for a table of eight.  All tickets can be purchased either online at www.avintageaffair.org, or by calling (615)351-8165.

Holiday Fashion Party At Sambuca



The Little Black Dress Club is presenting a Holiday Fashion Party next Tuesday. The event also includes guest speaker Alicia Boswell from Nashville Fashion Event's and a "Fashion" Holiday Ornament Exchange.

Alicia Boswell will speak about how to dress and accessorize for the holidays and how to dress for your body type. Muse Boutique is sponsoring clothing and accessories for the event and will have accessories available to purchase as well. Jewelry stylist Jenny Anne will sponsor lia sophia jewelry for the event and also have jewelry available for purchase and give tips on accessorizing.

MODEL SEARCH: MIDDLE TENNESSEE FASHION WEEK



December 11th, 2010 the Middle Tennessee Fashion Week (MTFW) will be holding their first Model Casting at the Paul Mitchell School Murfreesboro at 11:00 a.m-1:00 p.m.

Middle Tennessee Fashion Week is put on by Sharon Cumberbatch and it aims to raise fashion awareness, while exposing the cultural influences of fashion in Tennessee. The event will also allow students, independent fashion designers and boutiques to showcase their designs through creative platforms that include runway shows, trunk shows, and trade shows.

This will be the city of Murfreesboro first Fashion Week. Fab Life encourages EVERYONE to come out and participate in this awesome event!

The Model Casting at the Paul Mitchell School Murfreesboro encourages models of all
ethnicities to come out and audition for MTFW. Models must be at least 5 ft,7 inches tall and must be accompanied by a parent if they are under 18. MTFW will be casting girls and boys ages 16-28.

Nashville Fashion Week



In March 29-April 2, 2011 Nashville we be overtaken by "Nashville Fashion Week." I know many of you have voiced your concerns about the different "Fashion Weeks" that will be taking place come 2011 in Tennessee. All I can express here at Fab Life is that all the opportunities regardless are amazing. It's showing that Nashville, Tennessee is on the rise of growth in the fashion industry so, with that being said..I'm very happy to announce

NASHVILLE FASHION WEEK
Nashville Fashion Week kicks off March 29th and will go on through April 2nd.

"The event will celebrate Nashville's thriving fashion and retail community and its array of creative talent. Proceeds from the event will benefit the newly established Nashville Fashion Forward Fund, to be administered by The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee and awarded annually to advance the career of select local talent with demonstrated experience in a fashion-related field."

Nashville Fashion Week will be a big success. It's planned and directed by Creative Co-op Nashville LLC, a volunteer collaboration of fashion, retail and media professionals. From the things I've already seen and heard from Creative Co-op the event will bring out the best in fashion and media for the Nashville Community.

I hope that everyone interested will get involved in some way.

Fab Life Coverage of 2010 Soul Train Music Awards



The legendary Soul Train Music Awards brought out many of today's hottest artists and even some historic performers on Wednesday, November 10, 2010.

Fab Life was in attendance as stars walked the purple carpet and watched as screaming fans cheered on as Faith Evans and El Debarge performed live.

During the show, we attended the Social Media Room where many bloggers, journalists, and photographers gathered to update and get information about some of your favorite celebrities.

The best thing about the awards show was not only the performances by artist such as R. Kelly, Ne-Yo, and Erykah Badu just to name a few or to watch the wonderful duo hosts Taraji P. Henson and Terrance Howard, but was also the red carpet fashion, as it was a big part of the night as well.


Music artist Chili rocked a Herve Leger Metal Pailette-embellished Bandage Dress.





Actress Elise Neal rocked a dress by Angela Dean and Keyshia Knight Pullam rocked a Dolce-Gabbana bustier dress.




Hip Hop artist Rick Ross came in what I call the average rapper style: white tee, jeans, black jacket, and iced out chains while R&B singer Ray J opted out for a suit fitted with a bright shirt and tie.

EDCT: Annual Fashion for Everybody



FAB LIFE didn’t get to be in attendance for Fashion for EveryBODY put on by the Eating Disorders Coalition of Tennessee, but we have heard some wonderful responses about this years show. The fashion event took place on November 4th, in Nashville and was made complete by some of Nashville’s top role models in the community.

The event took place during Nashville’s first ever Fashion Week and Fashion for EveryBODY featured role models of all shapes and sizes. The event also included a silent auction and arriving guest got a chance to get their pictures taken by photographers and media outlets.

All proceeds benefited Eating Disorders Coalition of Tennessee, the Southeast's only statewide nonprofit which targets eating disorder awareness, education, and prevention. Founded in 2002, EDCT promotes a robust offering of programs and services, including eating disorders prevention in youth, specialized training for medical professionals, support groups for families, community nutrition and wellness presentations, and a variety of awareness events.
