Review: Clinique Even Better

This week brought out all the hecticness that anyone could imagine, but the most fun part about it was gearing up for the 2010 Soul Train Music Awards. Before I hit the red carpet to take pictures, we had to make sure that everything looked amazing on our end (No need to showing up not looking the part). We rushed over to Clinque for a makeover by two workers. As I sat in the chair anxious to see the outcome of my transformation I got more and more worried. I’m such an over thinker and with this being my first time using any products by Clinique I really didn’t know what to expect or how it would look on me.

All that changed in a blink of an eye, literally. I took one look in the mirror from my results and was like, “Whoa!” The look was amazing! The makeup specialist/artist or however the title goes there looked AMAZING. Everything was perfectly done from the foundation, eyebrows, cheeks, eyeshadow, and even lips. As I continued to be memorized by this look in the mirror, I just kept saying to myself, “I need this foundation, it looked great.” So, I started asking questions about the foundation. I found out that: 1. It was $25, 2. It was Clinque’s Even Better makeup, and 3. It was also a color corrector. So, as I continued to play that information in my head, I decided that I wanted to give it a try and go ahead and purchase the makeup.

Here is the look of the night from the awards!

As I got home and started to use the makeup the next day I thought to myself, “Please don’t let this be crap.” You know how when you get something done and decide to buy the product to use at home for yourself and it turns out like crap? Well…This wasn’t the case AT ALL! Clinque’s Even Better is amazing even when I apply it myself. LOL. I love how smooth the foundation is (That’s always a MUST for me) as well as the even balance of color the foundation gives my whole face, even around my edges. Also, the makeup lasts a lot longer than most makeup products. I went the majority of the day not having to touch-up my makeup.

With my skin type, a combination of dry and oily in the corrector in the foundation really works. So now I feel I have the perfect ready-to-wear makeup for any job I am about to handle. I did learn a few tricks while getting my makeup done.

1. Try to apply the foundation with a smooth brush. It seemed to even the makeup out great.
2. Make sure you get around those edges and under the eyes. (Forgot to mention, I was running off just a little sleep & the makeup under the eyes took care of bags quick).
3. Apply a top coat of loose powder to stop the makeup from getting oily.
4. USE THE CORRECT COLOR AND FOUNDATION FOR YOUR SKIN TYPE.
5. If you are going to wear it then don’t be lazy!

MUST HAVES FOR THE MAKEUP BAG-Eyebrow pencil, favorite foundation, loose powder, blush, mascara, and eyeshadow.

If you are going to be FABULOUS then be fabulous!
